Artist Profile

Amy-Lauren

South Carolina, USA

Growing up in South Carolina, Amy-Lauren always had a passion for art, spending her free time drawing and winning the South Carolina State Fair youth art contest multiple times in elementary school. As a teenager, she shifted her focus to competitive horseback riding, pursuing her other love of horses on a national level.

In her twenties, Amy-Lauren moved to Hawaii to fulfill her dream of owning an art gallery. While the work on the walls wasn’t her own, she enjoyed promoting local artists. In 2010, a fishing trip sparked her love for offshore fishing. Over the years, she had the privilege of fishing with top captains and crew, both as an angler and occasional deckhand. Driven by her passion for big game fishing, she began painting fish as a way to stay connected to the water when she couldn’t fish.

In 2017, Amy-Lauren sold her first fish paintings, and soon both local and international fishermen began collecting her colorful, expressive pieces. By 2019, she became the official artist of the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series.

In 2020, Amy-Lauren returned to South Carolina during the pandemic to be closer to her parents. There, she spent time in the woods hunting deer and observing wildlife, which inspired her to paint new subjects like bobwhite quail and ducks. During this time, she reflected and prayed, and although she had spent much of her adult life in Hawaii, South Carolina began to call her home.

In 2022, Amy-Lauren was named the artist of the year for South Carolina Quail Forever, allowing her to explore more game bird paintings. She also reunited with childhood friend and musician Slaton Glover, and together they now have two boys on their family farm, while rekindling their shared love of horses.

After taking a pause to focus on her young children, Amy-Lauren is returning to her art in 2025. She’s currently working on a new collection of fish paintings on nautical charts, along with her signature colorful expressionist pelagic fish. She also plans to create a new collection of original quail and local South Carolina wildlife paintings.
